Tuning Of Mridangam & Mridangam Tools.
*Bass side:
This is a quite big wooden peg, which will be used to decrease the tone of left side (bass sound) of Mridangam. If the tone is high, we need to reduce the pitch by keeping this wooden peg inside the rim & should hit the wooden peg outwards from a suitable stone. If we need to increase the pitch, then we need to hit the rim towards mridangam from a suitable stone. #MysoreVadiraj #onlineMridangamClass https://www.facebook.com/pg/onlinemridangamclass/posts/?ref=page_internal
*Right Side ( Sharp side):
Tuning is an important aspect in music. In mridangam, Only the Right head of the mridangam can be tuned to particular shruthi or pitch. This side can be tuned by using small wooden peg & a stone shown in the picture below. If we need to increase the pitch, we need to hit the rim towards mridangam from the wooden peg & vice versa if we need to reduce the pitch. Tuning is an important aspect in music, but however it can be done by practice & experience. #onlineMridangamClass #MysoreVadiraj
