Mohra in Khanda Jaathi Triputa Thala in Tishra gathi  I have composed a Mohra & Korvai for my recent concert in “Khanda Jaasthi Triputa thala I Tishram Gathi”, which is 27 aksharas ie 9 aksharas including laghu & dhrutham, & in Tishram gathi, we need to multiply the whole thala Aksharam into 3 which will become 27. [9×3=27] So I thought of sharing that video with you all.

Jana Gana Mana – Mridangam Tarang

Jana Gana Mana, Indian National Anthem on Mridangam Hi friends, Happy Independence day to all, I have tried Playing our anthem “Jana Gana Mana” on Mridangam. As we all know this anthem has been written by Pandith Rabindranath Tagore. This is my small tribute to my country through my mridangam on the occasion of 70th Indian Independence day. Please watch this special Video. Also I’m really happy &  excited that this video has became viral in YouTube & Facebook. It has reached 31k audiences all over the world on first day itself. I have used eight Mridangams from C to A & for nishadam I have played in lower octave that is B pitch. Because technically we can’t made top pitch in that shruthi. Thank you. Its a new Mridangam, invented & manufactured by Dr K Varadarangan of Bangalore. Really it is a path breaking effort. We all artistes should appreciate his intelligence, Patience & his innovative ideas in creating this wonderful Instrument. The speciality of this Mridangam is no Leather (Skin) & its totally Vegan instrument. Kudos to Sri Varadarangan for his new discovery.. This is weightless Mridangam Its a Fiber Body & completely Maintenance free. We can tune Easily to any shruthi without difference of “Meetu & Chapu” .
